Bahai News - DAY OF PRAYER Published Thursday, May 4, 2000, in the Miami Herald

To commemorate the annual National Day of Prayer, people of different faiths will meet at noon today in front of Hollywood City Hall, 2600 Hollywood Blvd. Similar activities are being planned for other locations in South Florida and around the country.

The City Hall event is being organized by the Inter-Faith Council of Greater Hollywood. It will include a presentation of colors by Hollywood police officers, followed by a group singing of The Star-Spangled Banner.

Hollywood Mayor Mara Guilianti will give a proclamation to the Inter-Faith Council, and children of various religions will offer prayers.

``Our theme will be how to make the world a better place to live,'' said the Inter-Faith Council's president, Nosrat Scott, a member of the Bahai faith who lives in Pembroke Pines. ``No matter what our religion, we all agree on that. We have to work together and do our share to make it better. We have a duty to improve conditions for future generations.''
