Baha'i News -- Baha'i Blessing

Bahá’í Blessing

by Justin Cohen - May 15

Chief Rabbi Dr Jonathan Sacks has become the first religious leader in Britain to receive a letter from the governing council of the Bahá’í International Community, calling on all faiths to put aside their differences and end religious hatred and violence.

The letter, sent from the Bahá’í Universal House of Justice in Haifa, is also being delivered to hundreds of thousands of clergy and officers of religious communities around the globe.

On presenting the letter to the chief rabbi, Barnabas Leith, the secretary-general of the UK Bahá’í community, said: “This is a message which is filled with optimism for the future.”

Rabbi Sacks added: “This is the message. This is the moment. We are facing the greatest challenge that G-d has ever given us and this is the message we need."

The Baha’i faith is one of the fastest growing religions in the world, with six million followers in 233 countries.
